Girls are the most beautiful thing in Vilnius

Nobody else can tell about the city better than its visitors from abroad. They can tell what objects are nicest, what is worth and necessary to visit, and what should be avoided. We got in touch with the student Bruno Garcia Alvarez from Spain, who is studying in Lithuania at the moment. He came to Vilnius under the exchange program and has already been living here for several months. We asked Bruno to share thoughts about the nightlife in Vilnius.

Vilnius was chosen coincidentally. Bruno could not provide any clear reason when was asked why he chose to come to Lithuania. “I do not know; it is difficult to say. I just took the opportunity. I have only heard of Lithuania as a basketball country. I had only an approximate idea of where this country is. Therefore, my decision was made spontaneously. I wanted somewhere to go, utilized the “Erasmus” student exchange program, and there a unique opportunity to visit Lithuania occurred.”
Bruno says that he started to interest in Lithuania more just before coming here. “Of course, I have interested. After all, I would live in the country for half a year; so, I had to know something about it. A few weeks before the arrival I began to look for the popular places, clubs, restaurants, bars, where I could go and have fun. I, as a young man, had to know that I wouldn’t die here of boredom and would have a good time.”

Girls are the most beautiful thing in Vilnius. After this introduction, we just wondered if Bruno wasn’t out of conceit with what he found in the capital of Lithuania. “Oh no, you must be joking? I even can not handle to visit all the places that I have marked in my notes (laughs – ed. comment). Though I’m in Lithuania for more than two months, I still can not handle everything to visit in Vilnius as in the whole country.  Every evening I receive an invitation to go somewhere and it is difficult to decide. Sometimes I even do not agree to go, because I know that I come back home only in the morning. And I know that it is still necessary to learn, even if it is “Erasmus” program.”
Bruno’s answer was clear when we asked what the eye meets first in Lithuania’s nightlife places. “Girls. They are beautiful. The first time I went to drink beer in Lithuania, if I remember well, it was a bar “Transilvanija”, and I just was able to distract the eye. There are so many beautiful women and they are everywhere. Sometimes it is even difficult to be in Philology Courtyard (Vilnius University – ed. comment) for me and my Spanish friend because we have never seen so many beautiful girls in one place. And they are everywhere. Lithuania is a real paradise for men.”

Tatar Street is the most favourite. We asked Bruno whether he could be called a "night person" and why? “I do not know, because it is much more interesting to walk around the city in the evening. It is often full of well-dressed people, and all have fun. Everyone rushes in the daytime, and I don’t like that. Everybody looks more beautiful and relaxed at night. Therefore, if we go somewhere in Vilnius, we come back home only in the early morning.”
It was difficult for Bruno to accentuate the most favourite "night" place in Vilnius, but he gave a very original answer. “I do not have the most favourite places in Vilnius. I’m the kind of person I like to go everywhere. In each environment you can find something interesting, something valuable. And in Lithuania you can find beautiful girls everywhere. (laughs – ed. comments). However, if I need to distinguish something, I choose Tatar Street. It is the most favourite section of Vilnius for me. There are some beer bars, such as "Transilvanija" and “Busi trecias”, and then you can go to any club, such as „Paparazzi“. The latter place I really like.”

Bruno accidentally got into a bar of the station area. Of course, curious situations sometimes happen and when they happen they don’t seem funny. Bruno also had such situation. “Once we walked around the Old Town. We were newcomers and we didn’t know any places. We don’t know how we got in Pylimo Street. We hadn’t any hunch until we saw a strange bar. When we came in we understood what that place was. There sat several boys and talked with girls, whose occupation was clear. We understood that we had to go out immediately. Later we knew that we had been in Vilnius station area at the midnight. Then we just had a good laugh at such situation and came back to Old Town, where we had a good time. The moral of our story is “it is better not to wander places which seem suspiciously.”

Friends look through green glasses to Vilnius. Bruno was quite gallant when we asked if he missed Spain. “Everyone misses his country. I sometimes reminisce about my friends. However, they envy me. I sent photos from a fantastic party’s in “Helios” club a few days back. They admitted that I am in luck. Spain differs from Lithuania, however, people in both countries know how to have fun and I like that. I feel here like at home.”
