The narrow Stikliu Street in the old town of Vilnius began it‘s history in the XVth century, when merchants and craftsmen, invited by the Lithuanian Grand Dukes, started their businesses such as shops, workshops and taverns there.
The building, where the restaurant “Lokys” is currently situated, was built at the end of the XVth century for one of the merchants for both living and trading purposes.
Over the centuries, the gothic cellars have changed owners a couple of times. There have been shops, taverns and beerhouses here. In 1972 it was restored and the hunters’ restaurant “Lokys” has been situated here.
