NERINGA was opened in November 6, 1959. The authors of the project and name for the then-café were Algimantas and Vytautas Nasvyčiai. The interior of NERINGA was created by artists Vladas Jankauskas, Vytautas Povilaitis (mural painting), sculptor Juozas Kėdainis. In November 5, 1970 the interior was listed among State Protected Monuments of Lithuanian Architecture. Today NERINGA welcomes you with 2 bright and cosy halls admitting 250 people, the banquet hall for 30 people and the café-bar located in the basement.
The restaurant, since the very first day, was a gathering place for Vilnius bohema and intellectuals – teachers, doctors, actors. NERINGA has saved its style and spirit through many years, therefore it atracts both old visitors and modern youth. The restaurant surprises with new ideas, high quality food, good service and original classical surroundings.
NERINGA was and still remains not just a restaurant, but also a remarkable part of the culture.
